The facies and other deformities typical for oligohydramnios h~ve been frequently missed at birth (Fig. 34). Besides gross anomalies such as anencephaly, facial clefts, omphalocele or gastroschisis, meningocele, sacrococcygeal teratoma, and severely defective extremities, the amnioscopist will identify hydrocephaly, cystic hygroma (Fig. 35), goiter, the enlarged abdomen of ascites or hepatosplenomegaly, ambiguous genitalia, anal atresia, inadequate muscular development and contraction deformities.
